Student Placement

Whyalla Aged Care is pleased to be able to host your student placement or secondary education work experience. Our goal is to provide you with an insight in to the Aged Care industry through a supportive and stimulating experience.

With more than 80 placements undertaken with Whyalla Aged Care each year, 30% of our new employees come from student placements.

Student or work experience placements are arranged as part of a recognised program or course of study and may include:

  • Secondary school work experience programs, including community service programs (eg. High School students over the age of 16).
  • Registered Training Organisation work experience programs or compulsory work placement (eg. TAFE)
  • University compulsory work placement component

As a student undertaking student or work experience, you will participate in an orientation process and complete a Student Induction Checklist. Upon the completion of your work experience placement you will have the opportunity to provide feedback on your experience. This supports us in ensuring we are providing a program that is effective, memorable, reflects our values and meets the student needs.

To enquire as a Registered Training Organisation, University or Secondary School provider interested in either our work experience placement or Community Services program please send an email to the Human Resource Department
